13X Molecular Sieve

Molecular sieves are synthetically made zeolites (naturally occurring aluminosilicate minerals), which are having definite pores and uniform dimensions cavities. It has three dimensional structures of silicon dioxide (Sio2) and aluminium oxide (AlO4), which is internally connected. Molecular sieve 13x is the sodium form of the type X crystal and is having pore diameter of 10A° (1.0nm). It will adsorb molecules with a kinetic pore diameter of less than 10 Angstrom and excludes those larger.

The sodium based molecular sieve 13x based on the molecule from the type of X crystalline foam, which has the larger pore size then other type of A crystalline foam that is 3a, 4a and 5a. The pore size of 13x molecular is about 10A°. This type of molecular can absorbs molecules diameter less than 9 angstrom. 13x molecular sieve desiccant mainly use for industrial natural gases including as CO2, H2S, O2, H2, NH3, etc. are absorbs and drying water and moisture part from these types of gases. Type 13x molecular sieve also used as mercaptan removal, catalyst carrier, air compressor systems, solvent (liquid) purification and drying of sulfureted hydrogen as well as separation of carbon dioxide, oxygen and water from air. 13x molecular sieve beads and pellets can also be used in various applications.

Regeneration Process:

It can be regenerated by heating and purging with carrier gas. The required temperature will be 260 to 320 degree centigrade. After the regeneration cooling period is necessary to reduce the temperature of molecular sieve at room temperature. It can also be regenerated by pressure swing it is called as pressure swing adsorption. In this method, molecular sieve is regenerated by purging by pure medium liquid or gas without any impurities.
